ኢሳት ዜና:-በኦሮሚያ ክልል በሰሜን ሸዋ ዞን በደራ ወረዳ በገብሮ ቀበሌ የወረዳው የአስተዳደርና ፍትህ ሀላፊ የቅርብ ዘመድ የሆነ አቶ አየለ የተባለ ከሌሎች ሁለት ግብረ አበር ፖሊሶች ጋር በመሆን በቀበሌው የሚኖርን አንድን ግለሰብ መሳሪያ ደብቀሀል በሚል ሰበብ ግለሰቡንና ባለቤታቸውን ልብሳቸውን በማስወለቅ እርቃናቸውን እንዲታሰሩ አድርገዋል።

የሚሊሺያ ዘርፍ ሀላፊውና ፖሊሶች በመቀጠልም ባልየው ብልቱ በገመድ እንዲታሰር ካስደረጉ በሁዋላ ህዝብ በተሰበሰበበት አደባባይ እርቃኑዋን የሆነቸው ባለቤቱ ብልቱን በገመድ እንድትስብ እንዲሁም ብልቱን እንድትስም አስደርገዋል። በእርግጫ በመመታቱዋም የስድስት ወር ልጅ አስወርዳለች። በድርጊቱ አልሳቃችሁም የተባሉትም ተደብድበዋል።
ድርጊቱ ይፋ የሆነው አቶ ይመሩ በተባሉ የቀበሌው የጸጥታ ዘርፍ ሀላፊ ሲሆን፣ ድርጊቱንም ይፋ ያደረጉት የዞኑና የወረዳው ባለስልጣናት በተሰበሰቡበት ወቅት ነው።

ኢሳት ጥቆማው እንደደረሰው በስብሰባው ላይ የተሳተፉትን  አንድ የወረዳው ባለስልጣንን አነጋግሯል፡፤ ባለስልጣኑ ስማቸው እንዳይጠቀስባቸው በመግለጽ ስለ ተፈጸመው ድርጊት በዝርዝር አስረድተዋል።
የፖሊስ ምርመራ ክፍል የሀኪም ማስረጃዋን ለመቅደድ መሞከሩንና ድርጊቱም በተራው የኢህአዴግ አባላት ውስጥ ቁጣ መፍጠሩንም ባለስልጣኑ ተናግረዋል ።
ይህ ግለሰብ ባሂት በሚባለው ቀበሌ ደግሞ አንድን ግለሰብ በችቦ ማቃጣሉን ባለስልጣኑ ተናግረዋል::

ግለሰቡ  በማዳበሪያ እና በሌሎችም ምክንያቶች እያሳበበ አባዎራዎችን ወደ እስር ቤት በመወርወር  እርሱና ጓደኞቹ ሚስቶቻቸውን እንደሚደፍሩም ታውቋል።

Bulcha Demeksa’s Exclusive Interview

Bulcha Demeksa, in his early septuagenarian age, is still an outspoken politician besides his role as a business figure. After 

Serving as a deputy minister of Finance in 1960s, he joined the World Bank and UNDP and served in different African countries before he made his way back to Addis Ababa after 20 years of staying abroad.

Following the coming of EPRDF to power Bulcha had also actively participated in the political and economic life of the country that ranged from forming an opposition political party to founding the first private commercial Bank in Ethiopia- Awash International Bank.

Though he is still taking part in the politics of the country, he says he is not really active these days. So he now prefers to look from behind while working on his new book that he expects to be published soon. Bulcha sat down with Merga Yonas of The Reporter to discuss issues ranging from politics to socio-economic that the country has been facing and what remedies should be.
Excerpts:

Many people say that your have an impressive professional biography. Looking back to the start of your professional, what do you think could be the reason for your success?

Well I don’t know how well I’m liked, but I know that I have been around. That means, I worked with different organization. My first organization to work for was the Ministry of Finance. When I came back from US in 1960, I joined the ministry of finance. And in the Ministry I worked for nine and half years before I became deputy minister.

Ethiopia: Mainstreaming Jungle Economics on the expenses of the poor

When some of the world Media and institutions take the Ethiopian ruling regime’s propaganda at face value to claim the country is one of the fastest growing economies, it makes you pause to say a new discipline in economics designed particularly to legitimize corruption as real must be invented.

Congratulation Africaan tyrants, finally a new economic discipline that would cover up your notoriously corrupt rule to show growth and development is invented. If reshuffling numbers of foreign aid, Diaspora remittance and selling off national resources to foreign inventors for cheap are considered growth and development we are in the new era of modern day dictatorship.  Unlike the previous era where dictators claim to protect the poor masses from the rich by nationalizing private property modern dictators are selling to the rich to help the poor.

More troubling is the international community going along with it simply because it vindicates them for century of failing to make any difference after billions of dollars wasted to help the poor. For modern day authoritarian regimes it is like wining a lottery. It helps them mask their corruptions and atrocities and legitimize their rule in the eyes of the world power brokers. It is indeed a win-win situation for both but a loss to the people of Ethiopia.

በደል ይረሳል ወይስ ይለመዳል ወገን? ጉልበተኛው ወያኔ በጉልበቱ ተማምኖ በማን አለብኝነት እና በማን አህሎኝነት የምንኖርበትን ቦታና ፍላጎታችንን ሳይቀር ወስኖ በንቀት ረግጦ መግዛቱ ሳያንሰው፤ ህገመንግስታዊ መብታችን ይከበር፣ መንግስት ራሱ ላወጣው ህግ ይገዛ፣ መብታችንን ተጠቅመን የሰጠነው የምርጫ ድምጻችን ይከበር ብለው ጥያቄያቸውን ለማሰማት የወጡ ሰላማዊ ሰልፈኞችን እድሜ ዘመናቸውን ወስኖ፤ እንደፈለገ የሚያዛቸውን የአጋዚ ሰራዊት በመጠቀም በጠራራ ፀሐይ በሀገራችን የተለያዩ ከተሞች አውራ መንገዶች ላይ ያለርህራሄ ግንባር ደረታቸውን እየቀደደ እንደ ውሻ ሬሳ እንደ አልባሌ ያጣለበት ወርሃ ትቅምት እንሆ ሰባትኛ የሃዘን ዓመት ባተ።

ጨዋታ ያልጠገበው ህጻን ድንገት በጥይት አረር በግፍ ተመትቶ መውደቁንና ረዳት ማጣቱን ያየው ሌላው ከሱ ያልተሻለው ወንድሙ፣ በጁ ምንም ነገር አለመያዙን በንግግርና በምልክት እጆቹን አንስቶ እየገለጸ፤ ወንድሜን ለማንሳት ብቻ፣ ወንድሜን ለመርዳት ብቻ በማለት በልጅ ፍርሃቱና አንደበቱ እየማለና እየተገዘተ ወደ ወንድሙ ቢሮጥም የጠበቀው ግን እንዳሰበው አልነበረም። ሞቱ የተደገሰለት፣ አድሜው በወያኔ የተቆረጠለት ይህ ህጻን አሰከሬኑ የወንድሙን ሬሳ አቀፈ እንጅ እሱስ እንደፈለገው በህያው እጁ አላቀፈውም። ወንድሜ ይፈልገዋል ያለውን ርዳታ ሊለግስ እንደጓጓ፣ እንደተመኘና ይህንንም ለመፈጸም ወንድሙ ወደ ወደቀበት እንደሮጠ፤ በቃ አልተመለሰም እሱንም እንደወንድሙ የወንድሙ ገዳዮች አብረው ደፉት። ታዲያ ይሄ ይረሳል ወገን? ወይስ በእርግጥ ይለመዳል?

የእጃቸውን የመከራ ጥላሸት በቀሚሳቸው እየተረጉ እባካችሁ በኔ ይሁንባችሁ ባለቤቴ እናንተ እንደምትሉት አይነት ሰው አይደለም። እባካችሁ እስኪ ትንሽ ተረጋጉና አድምጡኝ ብለው መማጸናቸው ከአንድ ኢትዮጵያዊ የተከበሩ አማውራ ስለ ልጆቻቸው አባት የሚቀርብ በጣም ዝቅተኛው ልመና ሊሆን አይገባውም ነበር እንዴ? ይህ ግን ለወያኔ የመዳፈር ያህል ያስቀጣል ከዚያም ሲያልፍ ሂዎትን ታክል ተተኪ የሌላት ነገር ያስከፍላል። እናም የወያኔ አጋዚ ወታደር  ልመና ስለለመኑት ብቻ፣ ጥያቄ ስለጠየቁ ብቻ  ተከብረው በኖሩበት ልጆች ወልደው ባሳደጉበት በራቸው ላይ  ያለርህራሄ ደፍቷቸው ግዳይ ጥሎ አስከሬናቸውን ተሻግሮ በኩራት የሄደው። ታዲያ ይሄ እንዴት ይረሳል? እንዴትስ ይለመዳል?

What Should Ethiopians Expect in a Second Obama Term?

It is proper to congratulate President Obama on his re-election to a second term. He put up a masterful campaign to earn the votes of the majority of American voters. Mitt Romney also deserves commendation for a hard fought campaign. In his concession speech Romney was supremely gracious: “At a time like this we can’t risk partisan bickering and political posturing. Our leaders have to reach across the aisle to do the people’s work, and we citizens also have to rise to occasion.”

There has been a bit of finger-wagging, teeth-gnashing, eye-rolling and bellyaching among some Ethiopian Americans in the run up to the U.S. presidential election held last week. Some were angry at President Obama and actively campaigned in support of his opponent. They felt betrayed by the President’s inability or unwillingness to give effect to his lofty rhetoric on human rights in Africa and Ethiopia. Others were disappointed by what they believed to be active support for and aid to brutal African dictators. Many tried to be empathetic of the President’s difficult circumstances. He had to formulate American foreign policy to maximize achievement of American global national interests. Terrorism in the Horn of Africa was a critical issue for the U.S. and Obama had to necessarily subordinate human rights to global counter-terrorism issues.

I was quite disappointed by the President’s failure to implement even a rudimentary human rights agenda in Ethiopia and the rest of Africa. But I also understood that he had some fierce battles to fight domestically trying to shore up the American economy, pushing some basic social policies, fighting two wars and putting out brushfires in a conflict-ridden world. I gave the President credit for a major diplomatic achievement in the South Sudan referendum which led to the creation of Africa’s newest state.  President Obama authorized the deployment of a small contingent of U.S. troops to capture or kill the bloodthirsty thug Joseph Kony and his criminal partners. He launched the kleptocracy project which I thought was a great idea. 

በሚዛን ተፈሪ አቅራቢያ አንድ ወር ያስቈጠረ ግጭት ሊቆም አልቻለም

ኢሳት ዜና:-ከሚዛን ተፈሪ 90 ኪሎ ሜትር ርቀት  ላይ በምትገኘውና  ልዩ ስሟ <<ዲማ>> ተብሎ በሚጠራው ቦታ በሱርማ እና በዲዙ ብሔረሰብ መካከል በተፈጠረ ግጭት በርካታ የአካባቢው ነዋሪዎች መጎዳታቸው ተሰማ።
ጉዳዩን አስመልክተው ለኢሳት  ቃለ-ምልልስ የሰጡ የአካባቢው ነዋሪዎች እንዳሉት፤ግጭቱ ከተከሰተ አንድ ወር ያስቆጠረ ቢሆንም፤ እስካሁን ሊበርድ አልቻለም።
የፌዴራል የመከላከያ ሠራዊት ወደ ስፋራው ቢላክም ግጭቱን ብስለት በተሞላበት መንገድ ከማረጋጋት ይልቅ ሀይል ወደ መጠቀም በማዘንበሉ፤ ረብሻውና ትርምሱ ተባብሶ  ሊቀጥል ችሏል-ይላሉ ነዋሪዎቹ።
በደቡብ ሱዳን አቅራቢያ የሚገኙት የሱርማ ብሄረሰብ አባላት በህገ-መንግስቱ የሰፈሩት የፖለቲካ መብቶቻችን አልተከበሩልንም በማለት በተደጋጋሚ ለፌዴሬሽን ምክር ቤት ያቀረቡት ጥያቄ ውድቅ መሆኑ ይታወሳል።
የብሔረሰቡ አባላት<<የፖለቲካ ጥያቄዎቻችን አልተፈቱም>>እያሉ ባሉበት ሁኔታ  ይባስ ብሎ አካባቢያቸውን ለቅቀው ወደሌላ ቦታ እንዲሰፍሩ መታዘዛቸው፤  የመጠቃት ስሜት እንደፈጠረባቸውና ቁጡ እንዳደረጋቸው ነዋሪዎቹ ይናገራሉ።
<<ዲማ>.የተባለችው ስፍራ በወርቅ ሀብት የበለጸገች በመሆኗ  በሺዎች የሚቆጠሩ ኢትዮጵያውያን ከተለያዩ ክልሎች እየፈለሱ በባህላዊ መንገድ ወርቅ ለማምረት ወደዚያው ማቅናታቸውን የገለጹት ነዋሪዎቹ፤  ወርቅ ለማምረት ብለው የሄዱት እነዚህ ወገኖች በሁለቱ ብሄረሰቦች ሳቢያ  የተቀሰቀሰውን ግጭት ተከትሎ በከፍተኛ ሁኔታ ጉዳት እየደረሰባቸው እንደሚገኙ ተናግረዋል።
ከአንድ ወር በላይ ያስቆጠረውና እስካሁን እልባት ሊያገኝ ያልቻለው የአካባቢው ግጭት በመንግስት ሚዲያ አንድ ጊዜ እንኳ ሊነገር አለመቻሉን የገለጹት ነዋሪዎቹ፦<<ድረሱልን! ሰሚ አላገኘንም፣ እየጠፋን ነው>>ሲሉ ኢሳትን ተማጽነዋል።
እስካሁን በግጭቱ  ከስምንት እስከ ዘጠኝ ሰዎች መሞታቸውን የገለፁት ነዋሪዎቹ ፤የቁስለኞችን ብዛት ግን ለመገመት እንደማይችሉ ተናግረዋል።
ከዚህም በላይ  ከአካባቢው  ወደ ሚዛን ተፈሪ ለመምጣት መሞከር እንደማይቻል የተናገሩት ነዋሪዎቹ ፤ለንግድ የሚንቀሳቀሱ ሰዎች  በመንገድ ላይ በሰፈሩ የመከላከያ ሰራዊት አባላት፦  <<ሰላም የለም የሚል ወሬ ለማቀበል ነው>> እየተባሉ ሰለባ እንደሚሆኑ አብራርተዋል።
